If you’d like to brush up on your Spanish while visiting La Manzanilla, the village has several options:
La Catalina Natural Language School Offers year-round Spanish language instruction. They host school groups, families, and individuals. Classes are taught in a group setting by native speakers. Family stays can also be arranged. The school also has a foundation, La Catalina Foundation, whose mission is to raise the educational and economic level of the local people. The Foundation has many volunteer opportunities.

Cooking Classes La Manzanilla
Eileen's La Manzanilla Join Eileen in her beautiful kitchen and discover new recipes for Thai, Indian, Middle Eastern, and Mexican dishes. She has been cooking professionally for more than 35 years and founded the catering firm Pease Porridge Hot and the Annapolis School of Cooking. Her years of experience in teaching and love of cooking make the classes fun as well as instructional.
Each class is “hands on” and students learn to prepare dishes from Eileen’s international repertoire. Students work together creating the meal and then adjourn to the rooftop to enjoy a panoramic luncheon. Price includes recipes, lunch, and beverages.

Yoga in La Manzanilla
Yoga in Mexico seems to be a natural combination. There are several people teaching yoga in La Manzanilla. One is Ani Mac, who teaches multilevel Hatha yoga on a rooftop at the south end of town. To find class times, walk south just past the Hotel Puesta Del Sol, turn left and you’ll find a large house with a bulletin board outside on the wall. Arrive early, as her classes tend to be full. Mats are provided.

Art Classes in La Manzanilla
Carol Lopez A variety of art classes are offered in the backyard studio of artist Carol Lopez on weekday mornings for adults and on weekends for children. Adults can enjoy drawing and painting in all mediums.
The children's classes feature constructions from found (recycled) objects, printmaking, painting, and drawing with guest artists and teachers facilitating. Every Saturday at 11am, children of La Manzanilla are invited to participate in an art activity.

Carol's studio is just one block further toward the hill from the Galeria La Manzanilla on Perula Street, so be sure and stop in there first - they will give you directions. From mid-November until April artist Michele Morehouse opens her Villa Obregon ceramics studio for almost daily art classes exploring the ancient Japanese process of beautiful raku-fired ceramics. Absolutely everything you need is provided to unleash your creative instincts. In just a few hours you can walk out the door with a gorgeous pot, vase, planter, tile, urn, or cup. Dance in La Manzanilla
Argentine Tango Beatrix Satzinger and Michael Young will be in La Manzanilla hosting Tango seminars in January. These are 5-day intensive courses with 20 hours of instruction per week.
