La Manzanilla Adventure
The active traveler will not be disappointed by a visit to La Manzanilla. There are ample hiking opportunities, snorkeling just off the beach, biking, kayaking, swimming and boogie boarding.
Interpretive birding tours through La Manzanilla mangrove in collaboration with CIPATLI, the local La Manzanilla ecotourism cooperative are available with Tierralegre. If you’ve never been through the mangrove before it’s a magical and educational journey into another world! They also offer Whale watching tours during the whale season- November- March.
15 miles north of La Manzanilla and 3 kilometers off Highway 200 is Arroyo Seco (Playa Chica). This is a good spot and draws lots of surfers. Lessons are available in both Arroyo Seco and at the north end of the bay, Boca de Iguanas.
If you want to bike rentals in La Manzanilla, stop by Guadalupe’s located one block south of the jardín on Tamarindo Street. She also has a fairly comprehensive street map of La Manzanilla. You can rent by the hour, day, week, or month. She has both kids and adults bikes, helmets, and optional insurance.
Fishing tours can be arranged through the fishing co-op located across the street from Cafe Risa.
