Saturday Art Classes with Linda
Local expat, Linda, hosts informal art classes of kids every Saturday between 11-1. There are lots of projects to choose from and all classes are free but donations are welcome. Parents are invited to stay and help kids with their artistic creations.
There is a great kids’ baseball league that practices on Monday afternoons between 4-6 at the Soccer field on the other side of the river. For more information contact Patti Wagner at firstname.lastname@example.org or 351-5268
Families can take a tour of the mangrove by boat with Tierralegre or you can take a walk along an interpretive trail and see La Manzanilla’s biggest wildlife attraction…crocodiles! You’ll see lots of birds and other mangrove flora and fauna. At the end of the trail is a small building that sometimes has baby crocodiles for viewing. While the walk is nice the tour is exceptional and we highly recommend it! Tierralegre does a fantastic job educating tour participants on mangrove ecology, binoculars are provided along with bird lists and tours are in English.
The beach in La Manzanilla is perfect for children, during the winter months the water is warm and shallow for several meters and there is virtually no undertow. You can readily buy boogie boards and toys for the beach in La Manzanilla.
